Monel Jean-Charles

From Haiti to Building a Family Legacy

My Story

The story of Monel & Sons Trucking Inc. began long before the first truck hit the road.

Born and raised in Haiti, Monel Jean-Charles learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and sacrifice from an early age. At just 19 years old, he migrated to the United States in search of greater opportunity. With no established business or wealth behind him. Monel worked multiple jobs such as, Mountainair Farms, Perdue poultry plant, Delmarva Oil, and Domino's Pizza while saving money, supporting his growing family, and continuing to help loved ones back home in Haiti. Monel later went to school at Chesapeake college to obtain his CDLS, which would be the start of his impressive journey into the trucking industry.

Years later, Monel and his wife, Marica Jean-Charles, faced a decision that would change their family's future: purchase a home or invest their savings into a dump truck. Believing the truck could create greater opportunities for their children and generations to come, they chose to invest in the business.

In 2000, Monel & Sons Trucking Inc. was established.

What started with one truck, faith, sacrifice, and a vision for their family gradually grew into a fleet of 10-trucks, being family operated. Monel built the company's trucking and operational foundation, while Marica managed the administrative, financial, insurance, and compliance responsibilities that kept the business moving forward.
Today, Monel & Sons Trucking Inc. represents far more than trucking. It represents the journey of his entrepreneurship, from sacrifice to ownership, and from providing for a family to building something that can be passed down for generations.

Built through sacrifice. Grown through ownership. Preserved through family.
